deg-min-sec, deg-min-ddd or deg dddd

Depending on how your GPS is set up, it may report coordinates as:

   degºmin.dd' (degºmin,dd for the europeans) [written DDDMM.dd]

degrees followed by

minutes (1/60 of a degree) [includes a bunch of numbers after the decimal]

(this is the preferred system for this website but we will accept other formats and convert them)

or as degºmin'sec.dd (degºmin'sec,dd for the europeans) [written DDDMMSS.dd]

degrees followed by

minutes (1/60 of a degree) followed by

seconds (1/60 of a minute) [may include a bunch of numbers after the decimal]

or as deg.dddº (deg, dddº for the europeans)

degrees [includes a bunch of numbers after the decimal]

waypoint.com has a conversion table for seconds to/from thousands of a minute here. I hope to eventually allow users to view/download waypoints in a format of their own preference.
